MLA Basic Manual Series

Series description

The series is a comprehensive set of manuals designed to assist the librarian in dealing with various aspects of the organization, administration and use of a music library.

The format allows authors to explore subjects in depth, with each book intended as a self-contained reference. In order to augment the scope of the series, we are particularly interested in proposals on cataloging small collections (books, music, and sound); acquisitions, collection development, and gift selection; music ephemera (storage, cataloging, and use); principles of digital archiving; introduction to music librarianship; and copyright and legal issues in music librarianship. Both completed manuscripts and preliminary ideas on these and other topics are welcome. Please feel free to contact the series editor to discuss proposals in detail.

Titles within the Basic Manual Series are co-published with A-R Editions. Current titles are available for purchase from A-R Editions.
