Responsibilities:
- Train, supervise, and schedule student workers who perform binding and physical processing of library materials
- Assist with physical processing of materials in the bindery as needed
- Check-in all processed bindery materials and move to circulation staging area
- Preparation of all designated materials for commercial binder
- Sort and organize gifts of library materials; prepare lists
- Manage periodic library sales
- Maintain periodical collection
- Assist with catalog maintenance activities as required
- Maintain inventory of binding and processing supplies; prepare lists of needed items
- Perform bibliographic searching of publisher catalogs and related materials as required
- Assist with management of library storage collection
- Perform searches for replacement items from storage collection
- Manage choral collection
- Assist with miscellaneous office assistant tasks, including photocopying, scanning, faxing, etc.
- Assist with shelving and other reading room maintenance activities
- Assist with miscellaneous special projects, as required
- Prepare and revise procedure manuals and related documentation, as required
- Assist with administrative support for the C.V. Starr Doctoral Program
- Perform related duties as assigned to support the School and department operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in music
- Previous library experience
- Knowledge of classical music, including the ability to read music
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to function efficiently within a busy and demanding work environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Aptitude and affinity for physical processing of library materials
- Strong commitment to library service
