Bonded Services is recognized as one of the world’s leading media asset management providers. This full-time position supports a Bonded client company in the entertainment industry.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Support ongoing music preservation and access projects
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):
- Research music collection requests and queries (both recorded and manuscript assets)
- Liaise with clients/business units for music selections
- Liaise with Studio Preservation and Scanning personnel to prioritize and track music materials flagged for scanning and/or digitization
- Create metadata for scanned/digitized materials, upload to digital asset management system
- Accession new manuscript score deliveries, create inventories and finding aids
- Rehouse manuscript scores into archival boxes and take other conservation actions as needed or requested
- Maintain inventory control records, conduct audits of physical assets
- Track requests and scans, provide monthly reports
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- MLIS OR other degree with archival training OR equivalent experience in the field
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of music composition, orchestration, arranging and recording, with an emphasis on scoring for motion pictures. Must be able to read music.
- 2 years’ experience handling archival manuscripts
- Experience working in client-focused archive, entertainment industry preferred
- Proven track record of successful collection management: i.e. a collection fully digitized; a database made easily available for users to search and review assets, etc.
- Strong spelling/proofreading/oral and written communication skills
- Experience with digital asset management systems
- Knowledge of film history and composers
- Ability to lift cartons/materials up to 30 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
