Job Description

The person in this position is responsible for managing the music library services, operations, programs and collections of the Diehn Composer Room (DCR). The position provides circulation, reserve, and reference services. Responsibilities include the supervision of student assistants. This position also helps organize special events highlighting the OCR collections.

 

Qualifications:

Required: Demonstrates considerable knowledge of music; demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and customer service skills. Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, familiarity  with online social network applications; commitment  to continued learning; good keyboarding skills and knowledge of PC-based software such as the Microsoft Office Suite. Considerable work experience in a library public services unit; experience in using online research databases. Experience in working and learning on a in independent basis.

 

Preferred: Bachelors’ degree in arts and humanities field from an accredited higher education institution or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Knowledge of library systems, services and organization. Experience in planning and managing events. Supervisory experience.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Minimum $35,000.   Excellent benefits package.
