List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

1. Increase awareness of MLA to the wider public library community.
2. • Committee members continue to promote the MLA to their colleagues, and have started a Facebook group specificall for public librarians interested in music librarianship.
3. Promote discussion of public library issues within MLA.
   • Public librarians have submitted newsletter articles for each of the last 4 issues to discuss items of interest to public librarians.
4. Organize a tour of the St. Louis Public Library central branch or other cultural location of interest to public music librarians, to be held during the MLA 2019 Annual Meeting.
   • Public librarians and guests toured the St. Louis Public Library on Thursday, 2/21/19/

List of Future Goals

1. Increase awareness of MLA to the wider public library community.
2. • Committee members will continue to promote and educate the public library community about MLA and the benefits of membership.
3. Promote discussion of public library issues within MLA.
   • Committee members will continue to publish newsletter articles, and push for discussions that are relevant to music librarianship in a public library setting.
4. Organize a tour of the Norfolk Public Library or other location of interest to public music librarians to be held during the MLA 2020 Annual Meeting.

All three goals align with the goal area related to membership, objectives 1 and 2:

Objective 1: Increase outreach efforts to members from underrepresented groups.

Objective 2: Increase outreach efforts to organizations that are underrepresented, including those whose holdings reflect many types of music.
