List of Previous Goals and Progress Made

  1. Identify and attempt to sell ad space to sheet music publishers who might not already be aware of MLA.
    • Over the past year I’ve reached out to different sheet music publishers with some success. Most notably, Schott has begun to regularly place full page ads in Notes. Other new one-time or occasional advertisers included Classical on Demand, Edwin Mellen Press, GIA Publications, Musikwissenschaftlicher Verlag Wien, the National Music Museum, and New Music Connoisseur.

List of Future Goals

  1. Update all documentation so that a smooth transition to the next Advertising Manager can occur upon completion of my fourth year in spring 2019.
  2. The Advertising Manager will begin to handle program advertisements for the annual MLA conference. Ensure a smooth transition for these duties which have previously been handled by the Assistant Convention Manager.
  3. Improve annual conference advertising.
